Design Elements
Current focus is for a splash park to be built upon the current “playground” site at the beach.
Splash Pad Equipment
- Components can be controlled by an activator, controller and manifold, creating a sequenced pre-programmed release of water that can be controlled by the children. The sequence can be programmed to any number of features.
- Activators can be placed in appropriate spot to allow for the winter conversion to an ice skating rink.
Splash Pad Theming
The splash park will not implement a “themed” park:
- Themes are not cost-effective and can possibly limit future revision or expansion.
- Designers are free to focus on the variety of play features, which is the core of the experience.
- Creation of a simple design with color and patterns in the surface material will be rewarding and inexpensive, yet serve as an effective way to add color, interest, and character to the site.
Upgrade and Relocate Playground
- Existing playground equipment would be moved to other side of the bathhouse on the beach.
- Additional play items may be added to this area to update the playground, and all would be placed upon an accessible, safe ground surface (such as turf).
